Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office

Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office

Location: Green Lake, Wisconsin

About: The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office is a small, rural, law enforcement agency located in south-central Wisconsin. Their Office and dedicated staff serve a resident population of 19,800 and a summer seasonal surge population of about 50-60,000. The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office consists of six divisions to include, Administrative, Detective, Patrol, Court Services, Communications and Corrections. In 2010, all County Government offices moved into a new government center located at 571 County Road A, Green Lake. The building is silver certified as energy efficient and utilizes geo-thermal heating/cooling for the entire complex. Desiring to adopt the same efficient stride, the Sheriff’s Office fleet of patrol vehicles, consisting of 12 patrol cars, 3 detective vehicles, 2 administrative cars, 2 snowmobiles, 2 boats, 1 patrol truck, and 1 tactical response unit, is striving to become more energy efficient and reduce our environmental imprint.

Being part of the Wisconsin Smart Fleet program has exposed the Sheriff’s Office to alternative fuels and vehicles, pricing of the same, concepts and ideas revolving around having an efficient fleet, and has placed us in a position to make educated decisions. Because of the Wisconsin Smart Fleet program, the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office is better positioned to seize an opportunity when that day arrives.
