What Does it Take to be a Smart Fleet Partner

Do you qualify?
Qualifying fleets must be Wisconsin Clean Cities members in good standing with three or more vehicles with operations that are already implementing or will implement the use of alternative and renewable fuels, advanced vehicles and other petroleum reduction measures.

Three-Step Analysis Process
Fleets will undergo this three-step process:
  1. Gather Data. Fleets are asked to share information about their vehicles and equipment, internal policies and incentives, fuel usage and future vehicle acquisitions.
  2. Fleet Analysis. A Program Associate from Wisconsin Clean Cities will initiate a conference call to gain greater insight into the fleet’s needs, daily operations, geography, etc.
  3. Recommendations and Ratings. WCC analyzes the data collected and arranges a meeting to discuss recommendations and the Wisconsin Smart Fleet rating structure.

The recommendations report is intended for use as a planning tool by the fleet and will outline methods and strategies specific to each fleet to further reduce fuel costs, petroleum usage and greenhouse gas emissions and improve the fleet’s rating within the program. The rating is a points-based system allowing fleets to improve their ratings based on efforts to reduce petroleum usage (i.e. the more a fleet reduces its petroleum usage, the more points it can score). A fleet can be designated as 5-Star, 3-Star, 1-Star, or Smart Starter. The fleet has an opportunity to move up within the rating system every quarter.

WCC will also provide participating fleets with promotion, education and outreach throughout the state. The program provides an opportunity to show your fleet is making strides toward contributing to a green supply chain and can contribute to significant cost savings. All participants will receive valuable information to move their organization forward.
